When the Federal Government enacted Social Security in 1935, it became one of the most consequential and successful programs to lift Americans out of poverty in our history. At its core is a fundamental belief shared by nearly all Americans: we all deserve to age with dignity, and not in abject poverty.
But for years, Social Security has been under attack in this country. Politicians like Rand Paul have been working to defund and privatize our most critical social safety net, which could force millions of seniors into poverty. As Senator, Charles will support the Social Security Expansion Act, and will protect, expand, and fund Social Security to ensure our children are secure for the future.
